Counseling Groups
The following groups will be offered to students starting in January. Please contact the counselor for more information or to sign your child up for a counseling group.
Friendship Group: The purpose Friendship Group is to enhance social skills. We will work on activities to practice the following:
M&M Group: This group is for Mad Management. The purpose of the group is to explore healthy ways to deal with anger and other emotions. We will work on activities designed to help students:
Family Changes: The purpose of this group is to provide opportunities to:
Other groups may be offered on a requested or as needed basis. This may include COA (Children exposed to Alcoholism), Peace Group (citizenship), Study Skills, Self-Esteem, and Military Families.

- Ways to make and keep friends
- Honesty
- Dealing with anger in a positive way
- Resolving peer conflicts
- Listening and Communicationg

- Recognize emotions
- Realize that all emotions are okay
- Learn techniques to deal with anger
Family Changes: The purpose of this group is to provide opportunities to:
- Explore families and how they are the same and how they are different
- Help students see the positive about being a part of their unique family.
- Talk about common concerns.
- Express feelings, interests and goals
- Provide a support system for students for students to help them cope with their parents' divorce, seperation, illness, or other family changes.

3rd Grade Feeling Abstracts
After a counseling lesson on Empathy, some students volunteered their lunch recess time to create abstracts based on a feeling word.
